You can pick up many different items including paper mache, silverware, jewellery, various artefacts, beachwear and sarongs, embroidered bags, and various other handicrafts. Both the Government Emporia, as well as the local shops and stalls near the major tourist spots provide a wide selection. The famed cashew nuts of Goa are another most wanted item for the tourists. These are available practically everywhere. The nuts are available in a wide variety of tastes ranging from plain, salted and masala. The prices vary based on the quality and flavour.
Local Markets in Goa
Throughout Goa, there are numerous weekly markets at all the villages, towns and cities. A visit to any of these markets will be enjoyable and interesting. Every Wednesday, the Anjuna Flea Market takes place. It is regarded as the most popular and well-known one in the region. In Arpora, the Saturday Night Bazaar is the home to 2 separate markets.
